The organizers of a fundraiser event, called Masked Rabbit, asked us to create a masquerade-themed invitation and sponsor video. After creating the look and feel for the invite, we ran with the darkly whimsical bunny concept for the video.
We wanted to take the typical logo slideshow to a whole new level and created it old-school-2D-animation style.
First, we digitally animated the sponsor logos transitioning to masquerade-themed elements and back to logos.
We then outlined every single frame of the animation by hand and methodically splattered more and more layers of paint.
Although the video didn't originally have music, we composed our own song to help recreate the mood and feel of the Masked Rabbit event.
It took 1,200 pieces of paper and 100+ hours to complete.
The video played on the two large screens at the event in downtown Chicago.
